Kevin’s work connects sail development, rating and performance decisions, crew leadership, and the practical detail required to keep a campaign moving.
Dorade’s team identifies Kevin as both tactician and sailing master. During his tenure, the 52-foot Sparkman & Stephens yawl won the 2013 Transpac overall, took its 2014 Newport Bermuda IRC class, and posted a 1–1–3 series to win the 2021 New York Yacht Club Annual Regatta.
View Dorade’s recordKevin raced aboard Pat Benz’s Gunboat 66 Extreme H₂O in the 2015 Transpac. The boat was first multihull across the line and finished second in its ORCA division after corrected time.
For the Santa Cruz 52 Westerly, he designed and built a complete sail inventory within a wider optimization program. Westerly then won ORR Class E and finished second overall on corrected time in the 2023 Newport to Cabo race.
